MIDIval PunditZ - MIDIval Times
Release Date: 4.19.05
The MIDIval PunditZ are producers extraordinaire from New Delhi, India. When Six Degrees Records signed them to a worldwide deal, they became the first-ever Indian electronic band to sign to an international label. The PunditZ morph at will into remixers or recording artists, live performers or club promoters as the occasion demands. They have performed as members of Bill Laswell and Zakir Hussain's super group, Tabla Beat Science, and have toured around the world as DJs and performers.

MIDIval Times is the follow-up release that Asian Massive fans have been waiting for. Once again fusing classical Indian traditions with cutting edge electronic dance music, the MIDIval PunditZ have created a masterpiece which transcends genres. The new release features guest performances from Anoushka Shankar as well as Tabla Beat Science member and sarangi master Ustad Sultan Khan. The tracks range from beautiful, lush ambient moods to dancefloor monsters which are as influenced by such groups as Underworld and the Chemical Brothers as they are by Indian music.

Cheb i Sabbah - La Kahena
Release Date: 5.10.05
On La Kahena, the Algerian-born Cheb i Sabbah returns to the roots of his native North Africa where he gathered some of the most distinctive female singers from the Maghreb in a studio in Morocco. With tracks by vocalists from many different traditions of North Africa, La Kahena compellingly illustrates the diversity of this region. Sabbah then added his own "dj Science" or modern aural magic to these performances, making La Kahena a truly original and ground breaking project the likes of which only the artistic vision of Cheb i Sabbah could have created.

Cheb i Sabbah is perhaps best known for his South Asian trilogy on Six Degrees Records, Shri Durga, Mahamaya: Shri Durga Remixed and Krishna Lila. Sabbah's heartfelt, spiritual approach to bringing music to the dance floor has established him the world over as a highly respected international music DJ and an influential pioneer of the underground. His latest mix CD, As Far As, showcases his signature blend of music from the Arab World, Africa and Asia.
